  1. LEAGUE CHALLENGE

  3. GAME
  4. Select your team from one of  the  64  teams  listed. (You can, if you
  5. wish, change your team  name.)  Whichever  team  you  select, you will
  6. begin the game at the bottom of Division 4.
  7. There are 15 league matches  to  be  played  in each division together
  8. with the "knock-out" cup matches.
  9.  
  10. YOUR TEAM
  11. The more intense the training, the  more  chance you stand of winning,
  12. but the more expensive the training becomes.
  13. Change your team to  combat  the  strengths  of your opponents. Select
  14. your defenders (D), midfield (M)  and  attackers  (A)  on the basis of
  15. their skills (S) and fitness  (F).  In  your  team, a player is either
  16. playing (P), injured (I)  or  available  for  play  (-). Remember that
  17. players need to be rested occasionally to improve their fitness. Skill
  18. cannot be increased. If a player is  not good enough for your team, he
  19. can be sold on the transfer market. You can have up to fifteen players
  20. in your squad at anyone time.

  22. THE LEAGUE TABLE
  23. At the end of each match, you  will  be shown the results of the other
  24. matches played that day,  together  with  a  league table showing your
  25. position, games won, drawn and lost, goals for and against, and points
  26. earned

  28. FINANCES
  29. Your financial position will  show  your  total income and expenditure
  30. for the week together with a  running  total  of your capital. You are
  31. allowed to go into debt to  a  maximum  of £250,000. Over this you are
  32. bankrupt and must start the game again at the bottom of Division 4.

  34. PROMOTION
  35. At the end of each season,  the  top  three  teams are promoted to the
  36. next division and the bottom  three  are  relegated. You keep the same
  37. team for the start of the following season, but the player's skill and
  38. fitness levels will be changed.

  42. Can you win the double? Can you take  your team to the top of Division
  43. 1?Will you be voted "Manager of the  Year"?  Or will the crowd jeer as
  44. your team is relegated yet again?
